In the wake of last weekend’s mass shooting at the Orange Mound Block Party event in Memphis, the nation finds itself once again grappling with the devastating impact of gun violence, particularly among our youth. The incident, which left two deceased, serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address gun violence in Memphis. There were about 300 people at the block party at Orange Mound Park on Saturday, April 20th and sometime in the evening, two people began shooting into the crowd. According to Fox13 Memphis, a 17yr old boy and a 22yr old man were found dead at the scene. Crimestoppers of Memphis and Shelby County PD have received many tips since the mass shooting, however no suspects have been arrested. Between the US Marshals and Crimestoppers, there is a reward of $25,000 being offered for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for the shooting, who could also face federal charges.
